• A saree is one of the traditional forms of clothing in the world, with recommendations to it going out with back hundreds of years - and it's really still going strong. What's surprising is the fact that almost all of the women are unacquainted with the great value of this little bit of women's clothing.

Draupadi, the wife of 5 Pandavas, the erstwhile rulers of Indraprastha, has been set up as a stake (!) in a game of dice contrary to the Kauravas.

Dice rolls and the Pandavas lose. Draupadi has been won by Kauravas. Not really an area of the game, Draupadi is dragged to the court by Dushasan - the next eldest in the royal track of the Kauravas.

The elders & the emperor of Hastinapura change a blind attention to Draupadi's protests of the legality of her being used as a stake in the game. Alternatively, the evil Kauravas have their own plan. The eldest of the Kauravas order Dushasan to disrobe Draupadi to quench his thirst for revenge, as they theoretically possessed her now.

And here's in which a miracle occurs - no subject how hard Dushasan will try, an unending blast of cloth is constantly on the cover & protect the dignity of Draupadi - queen of the Pandavas.

The above mentioned is a landscape from the Mahabharata, the grand epic of historic India. That fabric that protected Draupadi is that which was (and it is) known as an Indian saree.

    Immortality of A Saree

Within the last six centuries, a great deal has changed on the planet. Fashion trends continue changing - infact, that which was considered fashionable in the 70's of the western world is no more considered stylish today. In India, there were a large number of invasions, conquests by overseas rulers, changes in ethnicities and rulers - and then some.

Notwithstanding the shifts which may have occurred in India (and the world) during the last 6000+ years, the inimitable saree continues to be going strong. A lot of the ladies in India still wear traditional sarees, which is considered as the principal little bit of clothing even in modern wardrobes.

And still, hardly any people in the western find out about a saree. Which is absolutely a tragedy? Infact, on your day of writing this article on historic kinds of clothing doesn't have even a reference to the Indian saree.
